Cleansers for Oily Skin Under $12

For most ladies, normal to oily skin is common. What comes with excessive oily skin? The dreaded acne. I highly recommend gel cleansers as they are the best way to combat oily skin. Gel cleansers tend to work better for oily and acne-prone skin because they’re excellent at removing excess oil, dirt, and sweat. Here are some cleansers that I have found to be useful while still saving money:

  1. CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser-$9.87

This is a gentle cleanser that offers a chemical exfoliation. I personally name this cleanser as my holy grail because it of its salicylic acid properties. Salicylic acid works wonders for acne-prone skin and will prevent new acne from surfacing.

2. CeraVe Foaming Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin-$10.98

An alternative to the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser, but milder. This cleanser is still equally effective as it has Hyaluronic acid and Niacinamides as its main ingredients for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, as well as relieve dry skin.

3. CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser-$11.97

As described in the name, it’s obvious that this cleanser focuses on acne. It’s works great as an addition to a milder cleanser, especially if you have an active pimple or black head. This cleanser is a miracle worker! The active ingredient of 4% benzoyl peroxide works directly to fight acne be reducing bacteria on face. We all know that bacteria mixed with makeup and oil is a recipe for breakouts.

4. PanOxly Acne Foaming Wash-$9.49

If you struggle with constant breakouts or need a stronger cleanser with benzoyl peroxide, this one may be for you. Now, be careful as this cleanser has 10% benzoyl peroxide. A bit stronger than the CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser. Personally, I’ve found this cleanser to be gentle on my skin, but everyone’s skin tolerance is different. I wouldn’t recommend using this product more than three times a week as it could become irritating or drying to the skin if used more often.

Cleansers for Dry Skin Under $12

During the cold, harsh winter months, dry skin is a common problem among many people. With dry skin, you definitely don’t want to be using a drying cleanser to add to the problem. Many facial cleansers have drying properties such as surfactants that draw out dirt and oil from the skin. If you relate to dry skin problems, it is important that you read the ingredients on your cleanser labels.

Ideally, you want to look for cleansers that have a “creamy” consistency. It should resemble a body lotion. You also want to avoid fragrance cleansers because added fragrances can cause additional dryness to your skin.

Here are some affordable cleansers for dry skin:

  1. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for normal to dry skin-$10.98

Another one of CeraVe’s spectacular products, this cleanser is not only fragrance free, but it includes three different ceramides which are great for retaining moisture. Also, hyaluronic acid works to maintain radiance and moisture in your skin.

2. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser-$9.52

Just like the name, this cleanser is extremely gentle on the skin and does its jobs without stripping away the moisture. This is one of my go-to facial cleansers and even though I have oily skin, it doesn’t leave it feeling overly oily. it’s also a great choice for acne prone skin. This cleanser has glycerin, which acts just like hyaluronic acid by drawing moisture back into the skin.

3. Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser (creamy formula)-$8.22

Another fragrance free and glycerin-based cleanser, this product gently cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. It will have your skin feeling refreshed and softer than a baby’s bottom.

4. The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser-$7.99

I personally love The ordinary product. They are super affordable and work better than most high end products I’ve tried. This cleanser targets large pores and dry skin. With its active ingredient being squalene, it brings hydration combats dry skin to make your face look moisturized and vibrant.

Beauty Tip: If you’re using a cleanser with active ingredients in it (Salicylic acid, Hyaluronic acids, Niacinamides) leave on the skin for one minute after cleansing to allow ingredients to work to their full potential, especially after removing makeup.

There are a wide variety of affordable cleansers that works for a range of skin concerns/needs. I encourage you to pick one of them up and compare it to a high end brand or another cleanser that you consider your holy grail. Start saving on your skincare.
