When stress and personal life get in the way, It can be so difficult to think about self care. Self care is something that I’ve been working on for a long time. Between work, personal responsibilities and everything else in between, I found myself neglecting self care more than ever. When I saw how my lack of self care was negatively impacting my mind and body, I made it a point to take at least one day of the week to dedicate to myself. One day of the week where I can practice self care and not feel guilty. Below I’ll share with you my 4 self care tips to your maintain beauty!
Take a Relaxing Bath or Shower
A relaxing bath or shower can go a long way. Not only can it relieve stress, but it can simply just make you feel beautiful. A luxury bath or shower is all about taking your time. Grab your favourite Epsom salts, bubble bath soap, and light a few candles. I use to hate taking baths, but ever since I started looking at baths as a time to relax, I fell in love with them.
Do a Luxury Skincare Routine
Nothing in the world relieves my stress like a luxurious night time skincare routine. I love to use all my most expensive skincare products and pretend like I’m at the spa. I usually apply a face mask just before taking a bath or shower for 30 minutes. This way the mask is able to fully penetrate my skin. After which, I’ll follow up with a thick moisturizer.
Go Get Your Nails Done
Whether you do your own nails at home, or prefer to go to the salon, getting your nails done is such relaxing treatment for yourself. Just changing up the colour can brighten your mood or relieve some stress. I always recommend to people who are stressed to try getting their nails done and you’d be surprised how it completely de-stresses them.
Do Some Retail Therapy
I’m a sucker for a good retail therapy session. I’ll admit, sometimes I overspend, but it feels so good. LOL! After all, I work hard for my money so I should be able to treat myself. If you’ve been wanting to buy an outfit or a pair of shoes, go ahead and treat yourself, girl. You deserve to buy something that will make you feel confident and look beautiful.
Take Care of Yourself
Self care is more important than you think so please don’t neglect yourself. Take care of your mind and body in order to stay beautiful inside and out. Trust me, it’s a learning process, but you’ll feel the difference when you start incorporating even one of these steps in your daily life.
